Slim Dunkin – Interview w/ Ms Rivercity
Words by Ms. Rivercity
Though only rapping for little over a year, Slim Dunkin has the same level of anticipation from fans as an underground veteran might have. From the time he dropped his first tape, Twin Towers alongside Waka Flocka, the Southside Atlanta newcomer has been a local favorite. With each new release his buzz goes, and though the music attracts enough attention on its own, Dunk and his street army gained a bad boy reputation through various altercations and media-fueled incidents. A frequent headline on blogsites, Slim Dunkin is sometimes portrayed in a negative light. But we’re giving him a chance to speak on any misconceptions. An advocate for the less fortunate, and those trying to find their way, Slim encourages others to think for themselves and not take static from anybody. “We don’t take no shit, but we don’t start no shit,” he says.
Let everybody know about your history. A lot of people know about the Twin Towers tape with Waka and some of your newer stuff. How did you come up in the game?
I’m just your average Southside, Clayton County street dude. I came up with my bro Waka, everybody know that’s my big homie. He was doing music and he was like, “bruh you need to do this.” So I got in the game with him and jumped into it head first, and now you got Slim Dunkin.
